Fill Out Your Backerkit Survey :)

If you haven't finished your Backerkit survey, please do so right away. Once we lock the orders and send quantities to manufacturers, it'll be too late.

If you misplaced the survey email or never got it, you can request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://intothefey.backerkit.com.

Address Updates. Remember, you'll be able to update your shipping address via the survey, too. (At least until we lock the addresses just prior to shipping.)

Work that's taken place since the last update:

Copy Editing. My editor, Laura, has finished copy-editing Into the Fey, and she's begun her work on the One-Shot Collection adventures.

Interior Layout & Design. I'm now working with two graphic designers. One will be laying out Into the Fey, and the other will be doing the One-Shot Collection. My hope is this will help us keep to our original fulfillment timeline as much as possible. Into the Fey is ready to begin interior layout and design now. The One-Shot Collection should be ready for that by early May.

Artwork. We now only have TWO pieces of art outstanding! Almost there! :D

Into the Fey Maps. My cartographer, Lani, is doing a final round of corrections on the maps, and then they'll be done!

Upcoming work on my plate:

Interior Layout and Design. I'll be directing and keeping an eye on this over the next month or so until it's all set.

Tactical Tokens. No new updates since we're still pending art. Once the art is finished, I'll be sending it over to my buddy Dave so he can begin designing the tokens for Into the Fey.

Digital Tokens. No new updates here, either. Once the art is done, I'll be able to send it over to Ed Robinson who'll be creating the digital tokens for folks.

Order Lock and Final Numbers to Manufacturers. We're still looking at the end of May to lock the survey (which locks all orders) and sending final numbers of books, tokens, t-shirts, etc. to our manufacturers.

Artwork

Here's some of the most recent art that's been completed. These artists are so amazing!!!

These pieces were done by Britt Martin and Scott Purdy.

Work that's taken place since the last update:

Third-Party Logistics.  We are now working with Quartermaster Logistics for shipping and physical product fulfillment. These dudes are experienced pros who specialize in crowd-funded fulfillment, so I'm confident they'll do a great job. And their prices won't put me in the red. (Always a good thing.)

Copy Editing. My editor, Laura, nearly finished her work on Into the Fey. We're practically ready to send the copy for interior layout.

Interior Layout & Design. My graphic designer is currently working on sending me the proposed interior layout for Into the Fey. Then I need to review and approve.

One-Shot Collection. The copy for these five adventures is nearly done, as are the new, awesome maps we commissioned for them!!! :D

Artwork. We are so very close to having all the artwork done! I think we only have about half a dozen pending illustrations. AND THEY LOOK AMAZING!!!

Into the Fey Maps. My cartographer, Lani, is nearly finished with all the maps for ItF now. I think we're just working on the last one or two now. Yay!

Upcoming work on my plate:

Interior Layout and Design. This is the big boy right here. The final really big thing remaining to pave the path to fulfillment. Once we can unleash my graphic designer on this, I'll breathe a lot easier.

Tactical Tokens. Once the art is finished, I'll be sending it over to my buddy Dave so he can begin designing the tokens for Into the Fey.

Digital Tokens. And we'll be doing digital tokens for inclusion in the Digital Map Pack, too. So, once the art is done, I'll be able to send it over to Ed Robinson who'll be creating the digital tokens for folks.

Survey Lock and Final Numbers to Manufacturers. Honestly, we're probably looking at May to lock the survey (which locks all orders) and sending final numbers of books, tokens, t-shirts, etc. to our manufacturers.

Artwork

Check out these maps! Thanks so much, Lani!!!

Fill Out Your Backerkit Survey

We're getting close to locking surveys and preorders prior to sending in final orders to manufacturers. So, if you haven't filled the Backerkit survey out yet, or you need to make changes--such as adding add-ons--please do so now.

If you misplaced the survey email or never got it, you can request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://intothefey.backerkit.com.

Work that's taken place since the last update:

Third-Party Logistics.  I'm still waiting on a quote from another 3PL. Anxiously... Waiting... Hoping... Praying... That they can get me some reasonable international shipping rates.

Copy Editing. My editor, Laura, has been through most of the manuscript at least twice now. :D Things are getting tight and closer to being able to send the copy to my graphic designer for interior layout.

One-Shot Collection. This add-on consists of five adventures that I wrote years ago, and right now we're working on tightening them up just a tad and commissioning better maps for them.

Upcoming work on my plate:

Third-Party Logistics. This will be a thing until it isn't. Until then, I'll keep at it. (The issue isn't not having a shipping solution. It's finding one that doesn't send me into the red on the project.)

Survey Lock and Final Numbers to Manufacturers. I anticipate sometime in April we'll be ready to lock the survey (which locks all orders) and sending final numbers of books, tokens, t-shirts, etc. to our manufacturers.

Artwork

Here's some cool artwork that came in over the last couple weeks. :)

Work that's taken place since the last update:

Third-Party Logistics.  I've met with another 3PL and they are working on a quote for me. I'm getting better vibes after that meeting, and I'm hopeful they'll offer a more affordable shipping and fulfilment option for me.  My man Dave from Tactical Tokens is also checking on another 3PL for me. Thanks!

Copy Editing. My editor, Laura, has been plugging away on finding all my dumb typos and tightening the writing up. :D

Legal Review. I had an attorney and expert on the SRD and TTRPG publishing legalities review my draft to insure I was SRD compliant and not infringing on any WotC intellectual properties that would get me into legal trouble. I have a few items to change, but overall things looked good. (Yay!)

Upcoming work on my plate:

Third-Party Logistics. I'll need to keep working on this in the coming weeks.

Final Playtest Feedback. In the next couple weeks, I'll be incorporating the rest of the playtest feedback in the draft. If you're in the playtest, please get your final feedback in ASAP. I need to wrap that up so my editor can review everything and we can start laying things out for publication.

Artwork

The artwork is proceeding nicely. Here are drafts of Aeredale, the Material Plane, and the Fey Plane. Wow, are these amazing or what?!? :D

Work that's taken place since the last update:

Third-Party Logistics. After a few more meetings with a 3PL, I've learned that international shipping will be substantially more expensive than I had been originally quoted. Instead of about $30 for a standard package to ship to most countries, I'm looking at around $80. Needless to say, I'll be checking with a couple other 3PLs for quotes. (Because right now, with those prices, I'd be in the red about $10k for shipping.) FWIW, the cost to international backers won't change if I can't get better prices. I would just eat the cost. These are the sorts of nasty surprises one runs into with a project of this scope, I suppose.

The Candy Witch. The final stretch goal adventure is now finished and has been sent off to playtesters. It feels so good to finish the draft of the last bit of content for Into the Fey!!! :D

Copy Editing. My editor, Laura, now has her hands on the draft for about half the module--I'm holding back on the rest for a little while longer for playtesting to take place--and has begun doing her thing.

Upcoming work on my plate:

Third-Party Logistics. My most important task in the next few weeks will be getting some additional quotes from other companies.

General Note. These next couple weeks are insanely busy on my end with video production and other publications I have my hand in, so if I can get the ball rolling on more 3PL quotes, I'll be a happy camper. However, the great thing is that at this point, much of the remaining work lies in the hands of the professionals I've contracted--artwork, editing, etc.--so my role now will mostly be one of reviewing items and ensuring the project continues marching ahead as planned.

Artwork

And here's some cool artwork commissioned for the module. These are both examples of the full-page art that will be at the beginning of every chapter of the module. :D
